A Weekend for Cornelis

- Cirkus, Stockholm

About the Show

Never before has Cornelis Vreeswijk's artistry been celebrated on such a scale. For three days, some of Sweden's most beloved artists gather to honor the poet, provocateur, and romantic Cornelis – in words, music, and spirit.

With uncompromising honesty, linguistic sharpness, warm humor, and political courage, Cornelis reached straight into both the heart and society's tender spots. His songs are as relevant today as when they were written – if not more.

During the weekend, three sides of Cornelis are highlighted: the romantic, the social critic, and the funny devil through three unique concerts.

The weekend concludes with the Cornelis Prize, an award concert with the presentation of the largest Swedish music and culture prize, which since 1988 has been awarded to several of the country's greatest cultural personalities. The prize amount is one million kronor and is awarded from Cornelis's own foundation.

Part of the ticket proceeds goes to Stockholm City Mission.
