About the show
Cat Power has always had a liberatingly generous approach to covers. Despite several of her albums with original material being considered classics, she has released cover albums since the early 2000s. Such as the acclaimed 'Jukebox' from 2008 or why not the amazing 'Covers' from 2022. Albums where she shows that, besides being an outstanding composer herself, she also possesses that special ability to interpret other artists' works without losing either the magic of the original or her own identity.
Now it's Cat Power's turn, or Chan Marshall as she is actually named, to interpret one of our time's greatest icons – Bob Dylan! More specifically, his concert at Royal Albert Hall in 1966. The concert was actually recorded at Manchester Free Trade Hall the same year, but the recording was long believed to come from Royal Albert Hall, and that designation still lingers today. Her interpretation of the concert in its entirety is respectful and true to an artist who himself has never been faithful to his own original versions but – as always with Cat Power – the result is strikingly relevant. On April 20, Cat Power will perform the album 'Cat Power Sings Dylan: The 1966 Royal Albert Hall Concert' at Cirkus in Stockholm!
Wheelchair seats can be booked via Ticketmaster by phone: 0771 70 70 70 or via Cirkus at: tickets@cirkus.se
