Sustainability at Cirkus

Cirkus cherishes the environment

Cirkus, located in the Royal Djurgården district of Stockholm, was inaugurated on May 25, 1892 to house the many prominent circus companies of the times. Over the years, Cirkus became an arena for all types of activities, including concerts, congresses, TV productions, and above all for theatre, musicals and shows. We know how important our environmental impact is, and how important it is for us to reduce our impact on the climate to be able to entertain people at Cirkus in generations to come!

ISO CERTIFICATION

As a part of our sustainability work, we have chosen to get ISO Certification 14001. The certifications refer to Cirkus Venues' work to minimize our impact on the climate.

On 26 July 2022, we became certified by Svensk Certifiering AB, which we are very proud of. However, the work has just begun and we will continue to do everything we need to keep our certification.

SUSTAINABILITY POLICY

Cirkus Venues has developed a sustainability policy to be able to make long-term decisions. Both within the management team as well as the day-to-day operations.

The Sustainability policy applies to all the companies within the group as well as all the employees.

Royal Djurgården is presented an international award in sustainable tourism

After a period of extensive preparation and reporting of substantive dossiers covering more than 100 sustainability criteria and indicators, and an independent audit Royal Djurgården has been awarded Green Destinations Platinum Award, for working with sustainability issues in all Global Sustainability Tourism Council’s topics in a structured way. As the work continues, all of us at Djurgården are proud to have been pointed out as a lighthouse for sustainable destinations worldwide and an inspiration for more destinations in big cities.
