The 24-year-old singer-songwriter may be one of the youngest veterans in the music industry you will ever experience – a folk singer and producer who has been playing and writing songs for almost a decade.
Peña started as a songwriter after competing in The Voice at the age of 15 and has since honed a sound that is both uninhibited and filled with emotional depth. This has led him to, among other things, a publishing contract at an incredibly young age and a song he had the honor of writing with none other than John Legend, which in turn earned him a gold record.
After several years in the industry, he has truly taken his place in our ears and playlists with his deep and timeless songs. With the latest release of the single “the mountain of you,” he has clearly shown that he is an artist we will receive incredible music from for a long time to come. The single has been streamed over 157 million times worldwide, placed on three Billboard charts, and received support from BBC's Jack Saunders. The release marked yet another milestone in what has already been a groundbreaking time for the artist. Peña's single “In My Room,” from his “Lovers to Strangers” EP, has garnered an impressive 310.7 million streams, along with an astounding 5 billion views on TikTok, inspiring over 2 million video creations.
