Christoffer Nyqvist – ”The Lion from the North”

About the show
With his unique ability to balance the absurd with the relatable, Christoffer Nyqvist has become one of Sweden's most beloved young comedians. Now he's back with a new standup show “The Lion from the North”.
Despite the title, it's not about Gustav II Adolf, but rather a silly 75-minute-long show about what Christoffer has been thinking about since last time.
– I want to play with the format of a one-man show this time, and the idea is actually to make it a bit more of a show, which you might not associate with me directly. But it's something I've wanted to try for a long time, and it's important to seize the opportunity now that we've booked larger venues than a pallet, says Christoffer.
Christoffer started with standup when he was 17 years old, which is now ten years ago. “The Lion from the North” will be his second solo tour.
– I think it's fun to write standup, to come up with jokes. As usual, I start from myself, and in the absence of that, the news. Therefore, I have to start reading the newspaper again and/or experience terrible things I can make funny, he notes.
”The Lion from the North” premieres at Rival in Stockholm on 18/9.
