About the show
Courtney Marie Andrews has toured as a musician since she left home in Arizona at the age of 16. Previously, she was mainly seen as a guitarist and backing vocalist behind other artists, but since 'Honest Life' was released in the fall of 2016, and with her typically airy country style that breathes a lot of the 70s Laurel Canyon, comparisons with greats like Joni Mitchell and Linda Ronstadt poured in. The follow-up 'May Your Kindness Remain' from 2018 reinforced Courtney's position as one of the most interesting Americana voices of our time.
The new album 'Old Flowers', which came out in the summer of 2020, is further proof of Andrews' phenomenal ability to craft immortal, dreamy, country-soul-sounding songs. Old Flowers is a breakup album, whose creation served as therapy after a nine-year relationship came to an end. Suitable for the theme, it is a more stripped-down album, where tenderness and intimacy lead the way. The accolades have not been long in coming, and Courtney Marie Andrews once again shows what an incredible talent she possesses.
