Archive: Jonatan Unge Solo - A Completely Own Standup Tour

About the show
In recent years, Jonatan Unge has become one of Sweden's most beloved comedians. He has toured with standup groups like SEMST and Comedy Carneval, entertained us in podcasts, radio contexts, and TV programs like “På spåret” and “Alla mot alla”. However, what he hasn't done is his own solo tour – until now! “It is said that people have wanted more of me, but you should be careful what you wish for because it CAN become reality. And yes, now it has.” says Jonatan Unge. The demand has been enormous. After a sold-out spring, the tour is extended into the fall. On September 6 & 7, Jonatan returns to Cirkus with “Jonatan Unge Solo – A Completely Own Standup Tour”!
– I look forward to meeting my audience without training wheels. You can never guarantee that something will be good, but this time I can one hundred percent promise that it will at least be long. Previously, I always had to compress myself, but now I have the luxury of being able to indulge in what all men my age wish for most of all – namely to be long-winded, says Jonatan.
Jonatan Unge has been doing standup since the mid-2000s and in 2019 he was named Male Comedian of the Year at the Swedish Standup Gala and in 2022 he was nominated for the Swedish Humor Award. Among other things, he has done a total of eight tours together with Branne Pavlovic and Ahmed Berhan under the name SEMST and toured with, among others, Petrina Solange and Magnus Betnér under the tour flag Comedy Carneval. In other words, he is no novice in these contexts, but it is only now that he takes the step fully on his own with “Jonatan Unge Solo – A Completely Own Standup Tour”.
– Before, you have seen me in a context, now with this show we meet completely without context and I hope it will not disgust you, says Jonatan.
– This performance will be about everything I am interested in like sex, how I view sex, society, what my opinions are about it, history, my thoughts on history, phenomena in general, my angles on these phenomena and other things as well as what I have to say about just other things, says Jonatan.
“Jonatan Unge Solo – A Completely Own Standup Tour” premieres at Moriska Paviljongen in Malmö on February 8, 2024, and thereafter Jonatan will perform 32 shows around the country during the spring. Due to the demand, the tour is extended with several new cities such as Hässleholm, Luleå, Norrköping, and Halmstad.
