About the show
There is something benevolent about José González's music. Not because he avoids the big, difficult questions – on the contrary – but it's easy to get the feeling that the soothing voice comes from an artist who wishes humanity well. That the one who sings wants to wrap his existential ponderings in a comforting guise. And it's not just here in the homeland that listeners have been enchanted by the Gothenburger's very special ability to create masterpieces with small means. González belongs to the exclusive group of Swedish artists who tour for large audiences all over the world. Don't miss when José González brings his magical universe to Stora Teatern in Gothenburg on January 12, UKK in Uppsala on January 30, and Cirkus in Stockholm on January 31. Tickets go on sale Thursday, May 12 at 10:00 via Luger.se!
After both playing in hardcore bands and researching viruses, it was time in 2003 for José González to release his now iconic debut 'Veneer'. With songs like 'Crosses', 'Slow Moves', and a completely fantastic interpretation of The Knife's 'Heartbeats', it's not hard to understand why he laid the world at his feet. The astonishing follow-up 'In Our Nature' from 2007 includes songs like 'Down The Line', 'Killing For Love', and the memorable interpretation of Massive Attack's 'Teardrops' did not disappoint, and the same goes for 2015's 'Vestiges & Claws'. In 2021, it was time for González to release the acclaimed 'Local Valley'. An album where the artist in all the languages he masters – Spanish, English, and Swedish – poses the biggest of questions in the most intimate of ways.
