Joy Crookes

About the show
Joy Crookes' breakthrough with her debut album 'Skin' in 2021 was undeniable. With her unique blend of neo-soul, jazz, and alternative R&B, the singer-songwriter from South London quickly became one of England's most exciting new artists and was deservedly showered with fine reviews, sold-out tours, and several prestigious awards and nominations. The fact that the fantastic vocalist Crookes is also blessed with a rare infectious charisma doesn't exactly hurt. A talent that is evident both in the way she communicates with her fans on social media and, of course, in her innovative storytelling. As in the debut 'Skin', where Crookes explores topics such as identity, politics, and mental health with great finesse and precision.
Joy Crookes is now in the spotlight with her second album, which will be released later in 2025. But already we can listen to four songs from it, among which we find the boldly, hip-hop-influenced 'Pass the Salt' with Vince Staples and the soulful collaboration with Kano on 'Mathematics'. Singles that all indicate that the time Joy Crookes has allowed her second album to take has been well-invested time. With the upcoming album in tow, the British rising star Joy Crookes will come to Cirkus in Stockholm on December 8.
