About the show
The star behind the Netflix hit The Duchess (and two global Netflix specials In Trouble and Glitter Room) – the comedian and TV star returns to the stage with the brand new show Missus. An incredibly funny stand-up show about life, love, and what it means to now be a 'Missus'.
Born and raised in Canada but now based in England – Katherine Ryan has quickly become one of the brightest stars in the comedy world. The British press summarizes her well:
“A comic in supreme command of her shtick” – The Guardian
“One of the stand-out stand-ups of her generation” – The Times
“The writing is tight, the delivery flawless… a stand-up who is at the top of her game” – The Independent
“Flawlessly delivered… this is stand-up comedy that slaps you countless times around the face and leaves you aching with laughter. Be in no doubt, Ryan is among the very best out there” – The Telegraph
Katherine Ryan's success has reached far beyond England, especially with her sitcom 'The Duchess' which was released globally on Netflix in September 2020 – a 6 x 30 min series that immediately topped Netflix's charts. Katherine not only stars in the series but has also written and produced all episodes.
The series follows two acclaimed stand-ups on Netflix, In Trouble from 2017 and Glitter Room from 2019. With these, she became only the second UK-based comedian to get a global Netflix special for stand-up comedians, after Jimmy Carr – and so far the only woman.
Ryan has appeared in many major TV shows and podcasts – and is one of the most interesting names based in the comedy-rich country of England. And now she finally returns with a new stand-up coming to Stockholm and Lilla Cirkus as part of the tour!
