For the first time, the authentic police interrogations with John Ausonius are dramatized.
Who is Ausonius and what drives him to terrify an entire country in the early 1990s?
The audience follows the police's work in investigating John Ausonius's attacks.
A stage production based on the authentic interrogation protocols that are dramatized for the first time. Witness interrogations and evidence are interspersed with new statements from experts such as then Prime Minister Carl Bildt, Jan “super cop” Olsson who played a significant role in the arrest, and Gellert Tamas, journalist and author of the book Lasermannen – A Story about Sweden.
”– Creating a stage performance based on Förhörsrummet is something we've dreamed of for a long time. That it is now becoming a reality with Lasermannen this fall is fantastically exciting. This year marks 30 years since John Ausonius / Lasermannen's trial concluded, and the time when the crimes occurred has strong parallels to our present with widespread violent crime and racism in society, making the performance feel relevant on several levels,” says director André Christenson.
