About the show
The exhibition “Looking into a Mirror Sideways” opens on April 1 at Moderna Museet and in the evening the concert “All the Things I Lost in the Flood” is held at Cirkus. The concert is a collaboration between FKP Scorpio and Moderna Museet.
The performance at Cirkus revolves around Laurie Anderson's latest book “All the Things I Lost in the Flood”. During the performance, she will explore themes such as loss, memories, and storytelling. At the same time, she gives the Swedish audience the chance to experience both her art and her compositions in one day.
From her breakthrough in the mid-1970s with works in performance and video, Laurie Anderson (born 1947) is today equally known as a composer, filmmaker, author, and innovative visual and performing artist. Important starting points in her cross-disciplinary work are listening, language, and storytelling – from poetic and existential statements to activist contributions on pressing political issues.
Anderson gained international recognition as a pioneer in electronic music. Today she works at the forefront of new technologies in art, such as virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI), but equally uses timeless expressions such as voice, painting, or charcoal drawing.
