Lisa Ekdahl is going on an anniversary tour to celebrate 30 years since the self-titled debut album “Lisa Ekdahl” was released in 1994. “VEM VET Vintage Tour” will visit 12 cities around Sweden.
It is difficult to overestimate the enormous influence that Lisa Ekdahl's now iconic debut album from 1994 has had. Overnight, Lisa transformed from an obscure jazz singer to one of the country's biggest and most respected artists. And it's actually not very hard to understand why. Few debutants are blessed with such a crystal-clear vision as Lisa Ekdahl. With her unique hybrid of Swedish folk tradition and jazz, she not only danced to the top of the charts but also straight into the hearts of millions of Swedes. Making the difficult seem easy is a very special art form and few have balanced on that line with the same grace, ease, and certainty as Lisa.
Now it has been 30 years since the self-titled debut was released. 30 years during which Lisa Ekdahl has not only released nine more fantastic albums but also become an international star. But even though Lisa is an artist who remains in forward motion, this is an anniversary that both should and will be celebrated. Therefore, in the spring of 2024, the inimitable Lisa Ekdahl will embark on a major Swedish tour where the focus will be on the album that not only changed her life but also Swedish music history.
