The award-winning and critically acclaimed comedian Messiah Hallberg is currently in the spotlight with his stand-up show “Messiah Hallberg live – A Lifework with a Humorous Touch”. The stand-up show premiered in the fall of 2022 and was well-received by critics. Corren wrote “laughed enough for the whole week” and Dagens Nyheter considered that “he is the best in Sweden”. In the fall of 2023, the tour is finally extended and on December 17, Messiah Hallberg comes to Cirkus in Stockholm!
In the show “Messiah Hallberg live – A Lifework with a Humorous Touch”, Messiah Hallberg challenges himself by trying to take his stage language to the next level.
– I have always tried to turn darkness into joy. 2020 and 2021 were the two toughest years of my life. There were days when I never thought I would perform again. The new show takes off from that, says Messiah Hallberg. That something so dark can become so funny.
Messiah Hallberg is one of the country's most skilled and appreciated comedians. He is currently hosting SVT's satire program “Svenska nyheter”. The previous solo shows “The Misunderstood Prophet” and “Scenes from a Marriage” have been praised by both reviewers and audiences. In 2016, he won the category of Male Comedian of the Year at the Swedish Standup Gala and his previous solo shows can still be seen on Netflix and SVT Play. Messiah Hallberg's ability to weave dark cynicism into everyday problems makes him stand out in Swedish stand-up and makes him one of our most unique entertainers.
– This show is the most personal thing I have ever done, says Messiah Hallberg. And therefore also the toughest. But I have a few gigs left in this old body before it's all over. I look forward to it, says Messiah.
