Monica Zetterlund – Our Swedish Sensation
About the show
At our annual tribute concert at Cirkus, we are celebrating Monica's international side a little extra this year as the jazz sensation she was. Her collaborations with Bill Evans, Thad Jones, among others, are interpreted by our international artists Benny Benack III and Sinne Eeg. However, there will also be fine selections from the Swedish repertoire from her collaborations with Beppe Wolgers, Hasse & Tage, and Povel Ramel.
We also highlight that it has been 20 years since Monica left us and moved into the eternal jazz heaven, and thus it is also the 20th anniversary since the Monica Zetterlund Society was created. We remember her and celebrate her as our Swedish jazz sensation!
Traditionally, during the concert, we also award our Monica Zetterlund scholarships as well as our humor prize Årets Filur, which this year goes to Mia Skäringer.
