Surely there is life after Romeo!
Let yourself be swept away on a fantastic musical journey as Julia gives her famous fate a whole new twist and she gets a second chance at life and love. Created by David West Read, the man behind the Emmy-winning TV series “Schitt’s Creek”, the world's most famous love story is turned upside down and the question is: what happens if Juliet doesn't end her life because of Romeo?
After a fantastic reception in London's West End and on Broadway in New York, & Julia is finally coming to Stockholm. Awarded with three Olivier Awards and six WhatsOnStage Awards, the musical & Julia makes the audience both laugh and cry, ultimately getting on their feet and joyfully singing along.
Shakespeare's new love story is accompanied by a playlist of pop songs that are as iconic as Julia herself. Immortal hits like Britney Spears’ …Baby One More Time, Katy Perry’s Roar, and chart-toppers like Since U Been Gone, It’s My Life, I Want It That Way, and Can’t Stop the Feeling! — all created by Max Martin and friends. Martin is the genius and songwriter/producer behind more #1 hits on Billboard than any other creator this century. Experience the classic balcony scene that proves there is life after Romeo. The only tragedy would be to miss it!
In the star-studded cast, we see Viktor Norén take on the role of William Shakespeare, who sees his story challenged by his charming wife Anne Hathaway, played here by Linda Olsson.
In the role of Julia, we proudly present Joanné Nugas. Joanné, who is a member of The Real Group, is a very experienced singer and voice actress. Here in & Julia, Joanné makes her musical debut.
Pop artist Oscar Zia plays the self-satisfied yet charming Romeo. In the role of Julia's nurse Angelique, we see Sussie Eriksson, and in the role of Lance Du Bois, musical star Rennie Mirro, both well-known from the theater stages.
& Julia has a large ensemble of renowned musical artists and dancers and a fantastic six-piece band.
