About the show
One Pixies. There is, has been, and will always only be one Pixies. When the band was formed in the mid-80s to create art punk, no one could have guessed that now, thirty years later, they would be considered one of the most important acts of the late 20th century. But that's how it is. Without Pixies, no Nirvana, no Blur, no Weezer, maybe not even a Radiohead. What a poor world we would have lived in. We can now announce that Pixies are returning to Sweden for a performance at Cirkus in Stockholm on February 5th. Ticket release Friday, September 30th at 9.00 via Luger.se!
During their first incarnation, Pixies released an EP and four albums that are now considered flawless classics. Come On Pilgrim, Surfer Rosa, Doolittle, Bossanova, and Trompe Le Monde are all staples when critics draw up their world's best albums lists. In 1993, they split up. Black Francis became Frank Black and released solo albums, and Kim Deal started The Breeders before they reunited in the winter of 2004. In 2013, Kim Deal left again and was replaced by Paz Lenchantin. In 2014, the album Indie Cindy was released, which compiled the EPs the group had released since the reunion, and in 2016, Pixies' first album with new material since Trompe Le Monde 1991 was finally released. After that, another album has been released, and soon (already on September 30th!) the fourth release since the reunion will land – Doggerel. As usual, we can expect great achievements. Real great achievements.
