About the show
After sold-out performances, audience laughter, and acclaim from both critics and audiences during 2024/2025 at Cirkus in Stockholm, the stage success Santa Claus Is the Father of All the Children now returns to selected venues in Sweden.
When the beloved cult film from 1999 took the stage for the first time in 2024, a whole new Swedish Christmas tradition was created. On stage, the audience followed the now legendary Christmas Eve where Sara invites her three ex-husbands and their new families to celebrate Christmas together with her reluctant partner Janne. What was supposed to be an idyllic family holiday quickly develops into explosive chaos where old relationships, secrets, and conflicts erupt in front of the Christmas tree.
Director Rikard Bergqvist transformed the film's cult story into a stage performance filled with high pace, physical comedy, musical elements, and an ensemble of absolute top class. Critics described the result as a laugh fest at a furious pace where the audience's initial hesitation quickly turned into resounding laughter.
The premiere in Stockholm in November 2024 marked the start of a public success. The performance played to full houses, was praised by the evening press, and continued to grow in popularity during 2025 – where it was awarded “Stage Performance of the Year” at the Swedish Humor Awards.
The hysterically funny, lovingly chaotic, and completely unpredictable Christmas Eve returns in 2026 with some of Sweden's most beloved actors. Meet Liv Mjönäs, Linus Wahlgren, Eva Röse, Jakob Setterberg, Fredrik Hallgren, Clara Henry Magnus Betnér, Julia Dufvenius, Inez Dahl Torhaug & Anton Lundqvist. Together they create a Christmas show where doors slam, secrets are revealed, and laughter is never far away.
For one thing is certain:
No one celebrates Christmas like the family in Santa Claus Is the Father of All the Children.
