Unique musical experience
“We are incredibly happy and grateful that the brothers Viktor and Gustaf Norén have chosen to create this musical experience in the form of a unique charity concert where all ticket proceeds 100% of the profit goes to the Cancer Foundation,” says Jeanette Sundin, Head of Fundraising, Communication and Digitalization, Cancer Foundation. During the evening, the audience will get to sing along as the concert includes sing-along elements and other wonderful musical experiences. The profit from the evening goes entirely to the Cancer Foundation and contributes to the Cancer Foundation's vision to defeat cancer by funding research and working to ensure fewer people are affected and more survive cancer. “Viktor and Gustaf's drive and commitment are invaluable in spreading knowledge and awareness about cancer and its consequences. Together we raise money for research to achieve new breakthroughs,” says the Cancer Foundation's Secretary General Ulrika Årehed Kågström.
Viktor Norén is an ambassador for the Cancer Foundation
Since last fall, the artist and songwriter Viktor Norén is a new ambassador for the Cancer Foundation. Viktor's oldest and best childhood friend Kristian Gidlund passed away from cancer in 2013, only 29 years old. Now Viktor wants to inspire and through his music get people to contribute more to cancer research. “For the past ten years, I have talked about the disease during my concerts and have been very keen that there should be an awareness around it. That it should not be locked behind closed doors in hospitals and around dinner tables of those affected. It affects us all sooner or later and I am convinced that demystifying the courage to talk about it is a big part of the fight against it,” says Viktor. When his friend passed away, Viktor experienced firsthand how relentless cancer can be and he hopes that research will prevent something similar from happening again. – I saw Kristian's sorrow over having to leave so young. He was a person who loved life. He had so many dreams he never got to experience. If I can get people to contribute money to research through my music, I know I have succeeded as an ambassador. As an ambassador, Viktor hopes to build on his friend Kristian Gidlund's legacy: to talk about cancer and through conversations increase awareness of the disease. – In the long run, I believe that increased awareness increases people's engagement and allows more money to be raised for research, says Viktor.

About Viktor and Gustaf Norén: Between the brothers, there are decades of musical experience. For one as the former frontman of Mando Diao and for the other in Sugarplum Fairy and State of Sound. Since 2019, the brothers have been making music together, which has resulted in two albums and their joint TV show The Norén Brothers' Wonderful Journey.
