About the show

Already in 2013, the multi-instrumentalists and artists Sofia Karlsson and Martin Hederos toured together during the holiday season, and in 2015 the album “Starry Nights” was released to the audience. From the album, the idea for a Christmas show was born shortly thereafter, where both humor and warmth as well as melancholy and Christmas peace are in focus. Since then, the tour has become a sparkling streak of light for many – a sound oasis to come to in the December darkness. This year is no exception. Martin and Sofia will once again meet the audience around the country and give cinnamon-scented tones to Christmas. During the month of December, you can find the two performing in places such as Hermans Lada in Dalum (7/12), Stora Teatern in Gothenburg (10/12), and Cirkus in Stockholm (19/12), among others.__TRANSLATE_eventContent.root.children[1].children[2].text____TRANSLATE_eventContent.root.children[1].children[3].text__

Martin says about “Starry Nights”:

“My best moment on stage with Starry Nights is almost always when I stand up from the piano and go to Sofia who has picked up the guitar or mandolin bass, and then we stand closely together on stage and swing together. It's like the essence of our duo, a raw interplay where we throw ourselves out and take risks together.”

Martin Hederos is one of Sweden's foremost recognized songwriters and musicians and was among others involved in founding The Soundtrack of Our Lives. He has collaborated and made music with several Swedish musicians and also toured with Weeping Willows, Anna Ternheim, Johnossi, and Ane Brun. Currently, Martin Hederos plays in the band Tonbruket and Hederosgruppen and writes TV and film music together with Irya Gmeyner, including for SVT's Thin Blue Line. He has won 10 Grammis awards with his bands and also as a solo artist.

Sofia Karlsson is one of the country's most beloved folk and ballad musicians. With a catalog filled to the brim with self-written material as well as interpretations, her singing and music have landed softly in the hearts of many thousands of listeners around the country. Over the years, she has won a total of four Grammis awards in Sweden and one in Denmark. In addition, she has been awarded honors such as the City of Stockholm's Composer Honorary Award, Prince Eugen's Cultural Prize, and also received the Dan Andersson Scholarship. Over the years, Sofia Karlsson has collaborated with artists such as Rebecca Törnqvist, Svante Thuresson, and Rikard Wolff.

Said about “Starry Nights”:

“An extravagantly talented duo encapsulates what the year's biggest holiday should always be about. Sofia Karlsson and Martin Hederos have put together a Christmas concert that is an exquisitely subdued mix of melancholy, warmth, and peace”, Aftonbladet

“The highlights are so many, but “O Holy Night” in a purely celestial performance must be mentioned. It's easy to fall into angel associations with Sofia Karlsson's voice, but she has something deeply human in the performance and switches between different expressions in a way that few are privileged to master.”,Östersunds-posten
