Sylvia Vrethammar Happy Birthday

Sylvia Vrethammar, one of Sweden's most international artists and with strong roots among the Swedish people, celebrates her 80th birthday with a unique concert at Nya Cirkus in Stockholm on October 4, 2025, at 8:00 PM.
Under the title ”HAPPY BIRTHDAY” the audience will experience Sylvia's extensive repertoire expanded with new compositions.
One of the newly recorded songs has been aptly titled CIRKUS.
”My lucky star has given me the best birthday present, a dream band!”
The concert's guest of honor, the great artist Lasse Åberg, holds a very special place in Sylvia's heart.
”Welcome to celebrate with me!” says Sylvia.

Sylvia's long-standing collaboration with Magnus Lindgren continues. Their joint journey has resulted in songs like ”The World is Calling” and ”Broken Soul”. Magnus was also the musical director at
Sylvia's 50th anniversary at the Concert Hall in 2019 – a collaboration Sylvia describes as a musical celebration.
The young pianist and composer Simon Oslender, 26 years old, makes his eagerly awaited Stockholm debut. Despite his age, he has already collaborated with Sylvia in several studio recordings.
“I welcome him with open arms!” says Sylvia.
Bruno Müller, the guitarist with a personal expression, has previously worked with Sylvia both on stage and in the studio – including the song ”Broken Soul” and the album ”The Girl From Uddevalla”. He was also a guest at the anniversary concert in 2019.
Christian von Kaphengst from Berlin, one of Europe's most sought-after bassists. According to Sylvia, his superb playing invites playfulness and improvisation. Christian has previously participated in several of Sylvia's concerts and recordings.
Jonas Bäckman, also on stage in Ystad, made a strong impression, “He exudes a musical confidence that is invaluable for a singer – I am so looking forward to sharing the stage with him again”

Under the title ”HAPPY BIRTHDAY” the audience can enjoy Sylvias great repertoar which this time includes some new recorded songs, among others the title ”CIRKUS”, lyrics by Sylvia and music by Magnus Lindgren. The voice and the stage presence of Sylvia has grown during the years and she expresses her feeling about the concert with these words: ”My lucky star gave me the band of my life, the best birthday present!”
Special guest of the evening, the great artist and filmproducer Lasse Åberg.
