About the show
When one of Sweden's biggest rock bands of all time reunited this summer for three festival performances – as well as a warm-up night at Pustervik and a blowout at Garaget in Hammenhög – the response was overwhelming. From the opening “Mantra Slider” to the closing “The Passover” and in between a treasure trove of songs few can match, the concerts turned into a triumph that deserves to be seen by more.
Now it is confirmed that this will happen.
Starting at Katalin in Uppsala on February 15, The Soundtrack of Our Lives will embark on a major Sweden tour that also includes a stop in Oslo.
– We are doing it because we are apparently needed in this special era of human history, says the band's singer Ebbot Lundberg about the tour.
The Soundtrack of Our Lives was formed in Gothenburg in the mid-90s as a sort of supergroup with members from Union Carbide Productions, Nymphet Noodlers, Whipped Cream, and Mindjive. The single “Instant Repeater ’99” from 1996 became a huge hit and the debut album “Welcome to the Infant Freebase” earned the band a Grammis for Newcomer of the Year. Soon, The Soundtrack of Our Lives' reputation grew beyond the country's borders, not least the Gallagher brothers in Oasis took a liking and brought Soundtrack on tour. The third album “Behind the Music” led to a minor breakthrough in the USA and in 2002 they were nominated for a Grammy in the Alternative rock category. Last year, the band – Ebbot Lundberg (vocals), Ian Person (guitar), Mattias Bärjed (guitar), Martin Hederos (keyboards), Kalle Gustafsson Jerneholm (bass), and Fredrik Sandsten (drums) – was inducted into the Swedish Music Hall of Fame and earlier this year they performed together for the first time in over ten years.
