Archive: Tomas Andersson Wij with Stockholm Concert Orchestra

About the show
Last year, Tomas Andersson Wij released the Grammy-nominated album Åskan i hjärtat. After the autumn club tour and the summer acoustic journey, he returns home to Stockholm and Cirkus for a unique evening together with the Stockholm Concert Orchestra. Conductor Johan Siberg has written new arrangements for Andersson Wij's songs.
– We quickly found each other, Johan Siberg and I. It was easy to choose songs, and it turned out just as I hoped: the music in his arrangements unfolded even more, gained more layers and more temperament. This is among the most fun I've had on stage. It's an enormous feeling to have the orchestra at my back, says Tomas Andersson Wij.
Three sold-out and acclaimed concerts have been performed across the country. Now, hometown Stockholm awaits. And Cirkus is a special place for Tomas Andersson Wij.
– When I was a new artist dreaming of the big stages, it was always Cirkus I had in mind. Now I've played there a few times, but it feels just as grand every time. Festive that it's on a Saturday too, says Tomas, who is currently sitting at the piano writing songs for a new album.
