Archive: Tomas Ledin – Symphonia

About the show
This fall, Tomas Ledin and conductor Peter Nordahl embark on the tour “Symphonia” to
perform symphonic interpretations of Ledin's extensive song collection together with a total of 500
musicians from different parts of Sweden and Finland. Everything from alto horns, bassoons to many strings
will take “Sommaren är kort”, “En del av mitt hjärta” and other favorites into completely new
musical landscapes.
Last year, it was sold out. During two magical evenings with “Symphonia”,
Stockholm's Concert Hall was filled to the last seat while the vinyl record and CD Symphonia reached
top positions – and this year the success continues in Sweden and Finland!
– It is overwhelming to experience music that wants to evolve and take new steps. Here,
pop and rock have met the symphony's sound world in a way that gives Tomas's songs a new
meaning and life, says conductor Peter Nordahl.
Symphonia is 15 of Tomas Ledin's most beloved songs in new orchestral arrangements. The word
Symphonia means “harmony”, and that is exactly what this unique concert tour offers: a
curious meeting across musical boundaries. Between different music styles, between different symphonic
orchestras and between different regions.
– When I turned 70, I didn't want to summarize my music career with a retrospective.
It felt more exciting to continue the journey of discovery in music. Symphonia
has gotten me on my toes, challenged me and taken me and my songs to places I
didn't know existed, says Tomas Ledin
