From Bristol's underground, a completely new sound emerged in the 90s. A sound characterized by urban darkness, rain-soaked streets, and all the genres that fueled the long party nights. One of the most important groups of this movement was Massive Attack. And in that constellation appeared one of the scene's absolute greatest icons, Tricky.
In addition to his service in the trip-hop collective, the British rapper and producer dropped his groundbreaking debut album “Maxinquaye” in 1995. A milestone in music. Suggestively grinding, fragmented, dreamy, and groovy. As magical as it is ghostly. A soundtrack of cultural decay according to the creator himself. It marked the start of an artistry that for almost 30 years has challenged norms and conventions.
Now the icon and legend Tricky comes to Sweden with a tour specially dedicated to “Maxinquaye” – this epoch-defining album from the darkest and most fascinating depths of the 90s.
