How often do we see two singers in a joint project on the Swedish jazz scene?
Far too seldom, think the two colleagues, and close friends, Amanda Ginsburg and Lovisa Jennervall. For several years, they have worked in parallel as singers, front figures, band leaders, and songwriters, and through their friendship, they have shared the frustration, stress, and joy that easily arises in the changing life of a musician. Now they want to become real colleagues by taking the stage side by side. Now they get to be two in everything, in headwinds and tailwinds.
In the music of composer, pianist, and singer Blossom Dearie, Amanda Ginsburg and Lovisa Jennervall now meet together with some of Sweden's most established jazz musicians. Blossom Dearie is behind musical gems such as: “Hey John” and “I like you, you’re nice” but has also with her unmistakable voice immortalized jazz standards like “I´m Hip”, “Manhattan” and “Put On A Happy Face”.
