Saturday, April 6th marks the 50-year anniversary of ABBA’s historic victory in the Eurovision Song Contest in Brighton. The breakthrough was monumental and changed Swedish music forever. Now, SVT invites some of Sweden’s most prominent artists, a 21-piece band, and a gigantic choir to celebrate this anniversary. Musical tributes are mixed with retrospectives, with never-before-seen material, and greetings from around the world. It will be an evening full of music, laughter, surprises, and nostalgia. A public celebration and tribute to ABBA and the music that has been our soundtrack for 50 years. Welcome to celebrate with us!
The event is produced by Sveriges Television and will be broadcast live on SVT Play, SVT1, and Sveriges Radio P4.
The show starts at 8:00 PM but everyone must be seated by 7:30 PM due to live broadcasting, and the doors to the auditorium will close at 7:30 PM.

A grand party for ABBA – Waterloo fifty years
Saturday April 6th marks the 50-year anniversary of ABBA’s historic victory in the Eurovision Song Contest in Brighton. It signified a monumental breakthrough for the band and changed the Swedish music scene forever. To celebrate ABBA’s anniversary, Sveriges Television is inviting some of Sweden’s most prominent artists, a 21-man band and a huge choir for a night filled with music, laughter, surprises and wonderful nostalgia; musical tributes, retrospects with never-before-seen footage and greetings from all around the world. A tribute to ABBA and the music that has been our soundtrack for fifty years. Come celebrate with us!
