Ikoniska brittiska sångerskan Lisa Stansfield firar 30 årsjubileum för debutalbumet ”Affection” (1989) nästa år. På sin resa ”All Around The World” (..and I-I-I) kommer hon till Lilla Cirkus på Cirkus i Stockholm – den 25 november 2019!

Sångerskan själv beskriver tankarna kring starten av karriären för snart 30 år sedan, på absolut bästa sätt: ”At the beginning, there was a little bit of fear about it, but we thought ‘F*ck it, let’s get on with it and see what happens’.”

Och ja vad hände? Det blev ett debutalbum som sålde Platinum flera gånger om och som sålde över 5 miljoner exemplar vid släppet. Skivan resulterade också i 3 BRIT Awards, 2 Ivor Novello Awards, 1 Silver Clef Award, 1 ASCAP Award, 1 Billboard Music Award, 1 World Music Award och 2 Grammy-nomineringar – för den Manchester-bördiga sångerskan. Singlar som ”All Around The World” (som blev en hit – all around the world), ”What Did I Do To You”, ”Live Together”, ”You Can’t Deny It” och ”This Is The Right Time” gjorde att Lisas unika mix av soul, R&B och Brit-house slog igenom på en global nivå.

Nästa år fyller debutalbumet 30 år och Lisa Stansfield beskriver själv sitt första album och jubileet så här: “I feel enormously proud of ‘Affection’. I said it then and I’ll say it now. To have a part of yourself floating around out there for everyone to enjoy and knowing so many people still do enjoy it is a huge compliment. The response it has to this day still inspires me to keep pulling music and emotion from myself and share it with others if they want to share it with me. It feels right to celebrate it. Life is a cycle and music is like that. Right now, in this current climate, ‘Affection’ makes complete sense.”
